What kind of dog(s) are you looking for?
My name is Kasey. I have been married for 4 years this summer. We have a 2.5 year old and a 7.5 month old. I am a stay at home mom. My whole life revolves around my two beautiful little boys. I am very family oriented. I have a social work degree. I do stroller strides which is a stroller fitness group.
Brag about your dog (s)
He is a 3 year old male pitbull mix named Papi. He is neutered and up to date on his shots.

My sister got a him about 3 years ago when she started nursing school and was living by herself. Now she is living with her fiance and her new baby in a rental where they can't have dogs.

Her dog is now living in my parent's garage. My parents agreed to help her out by keeping him but they have dogs of their own and my sister's dog isn't good with other dogs. He is only getting out of his crate a couple times a day for a short amount of time. We need help to find a better situation for Papi.

We have been searching for a couple of months now to try and find someone to take him that will give him a good home. Shelters won't take surrenders and their only solution for us is to have him euthanized. We have posted everywhere and joined many groups. We have tried ringdogrescue, pitbull sites, craigslist, freecycle and other groups that try to find homes for dogs. We have even tried many of the shelters in Virginia. No one has any room for him. We feel very helpless.

We are not able to give him the care he needs. We are all dog people and have never given up a dog. This situation is very painful for everyone in our family.

He is a great dog but very protective of his masters. He is not good with other animals but has proven to be great with our family and good even with our kids. And, we believe he could be good with other animals if he is worked with. He is very powerful and will knock someone down to get to a ball or something else he is chasing. He can also jump a 6 ft. fence from a standing position.

He has the best personality. He is funny and quirky. He has been to puppy school (you can't really tell now though:)) has been neutered and is up to date on all of his shots and heart worm.

An ideal situation would be for someone with some land and no other animals or small children to take him. We live in the suburbs of Richmond, VA but we would be willing to travel a reasonable distance to give him a good home.We would need to see where he would live and meet the potential owners because he is very important to us and we would need to know that he would be treated well. I know this is a long shot. But any suggestions will help us.
Please list the type (BREED) of dog you want to rescue or foster.

Hi and welcome to Going To The Dogs rescue network. My vision for this network is that the rescue folks actually have a place to network. One way we can do this is by advertising what we do. Blog...blog...blog. In your blog you can post pictures of your rescues, your adoption kids, brag on your place, your self, your business, whatever. Let us get to know what you do, who you are. Talk to each other, comment on each others pages. Connect...

I believe we will become family quickly. We are all about dogs here with one common cause.

This is a rescue network...crossposters, transporters, pullers, vets, techs, supporters of all kinds. Invite anyone and everyone that you belive will help. Some people want to donate money. GREAT! We need it. Some people will pray. GREAT...we need them. Bring them in, because this is gonna be the place of all places that will be saving the dogs and people will be touched in the process.

If I'm not already your friend, please add me. Come by my page and let's be friends! I'm very glad you are here. Please check out the main page. Lots of information happens there. Please check it often. And look for me on the chat!

God bless!

Hugs,
Doreen

(Also, as a side note, I make and sell healthy dog cookies..no wheat or corn. FREE SHIPPING!!Check out my page if you are interested!)

PS...Please don't change your personal information. We back up our data and use that information to help us rescue dogs.

PSS...If you want to help us in any way...either by posting, researching, recruiting, praying...if you have something that you think we need...please come to one of the Administrators...WE NEED YOU! You are NOT here by mistake. :) We welcome you with open arms. Thank you for coming!

PSSS...If you want to donate to help us help the dogs, (or already agreed to) please do so on the main page...WE NEED IT! Also, if you have an animal business or just want to advertise your rescue we are "selling" slots for 5 bucks a month coming soon. Let me know if you are interested.
